About Us
Who Are We and How We’re Different?
Thank you, students, jobseekers, writers and other future tiquers for taking the time to learn more about Tiquer! We created Tiquer because we have walked in your shoes.
We know how hard it is to get feedback on your college essays-other than from your mom or best friend-without dropping loads of cash you don’t have. We know how hard it is to get into top grad schools (for education, nursing, midwifery, and law) without highly qualified critique on your resume and admissions statements-again without dropping loads of cash you don’t have. We know that in the current market a professional résumé and cover letter are must-haves to get your next job, whether carhopping in Kansas, arguing trials in New York courts, or treating women in Florida medical facilities. We also know that good critique on your creative writing, especially book-length projects, is nearly impossible to find and costs a fortune if you do.
So, having walked in your shoes, we created Tiquer to break the mold. We want to make good tiq available to you who need it most, wherever you are, at a price that you can afford. We care about you and your goals above all else. Our tiq (affordable + expert critique) aims to help you grow yourself to achieve your goals while growing all of us, elephants, and the world. One of Many Success Stories:
Knowledgeable, organized, and extremely helpful tutor I came to Jeff for help in writing my law school personal statement. Before contacting Jeff, I had no idea what to write about and was very worried that I wouldn’t have an essay ready by the time I needed to submit my applications. I wanted to contact Jeff with the hope that he might be able to give me some ideas or suggest some topics others had written about. But during our first phone call, Jeff was very interested in learning about me. He asked me things like how I came to where I am and what led me to the decision to study law. I quickly realized that he wasn’t going to suggest a generic topic. He was helping me figure out my story with the goal of creating a unique statement that shows who I am as a person and what I aspire to accomplish in my future legal career. We then had a brainstorming session followed by a few drafts, and before I knew it I had a personal statement that I was not only proud of but eager for law schools to read. However, it’s not only the personal statement that made me realized how great of a tutor Jeff really is. During the entire process, Jeff was always willing to check up on me to make sure everything was going smoothly with the applications, and I truly got the feeling that he cared to help and was not just trying to do his job. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience with Jeff and I know that I have someone that I can count on with any future help I may need.

Elephants and Wildlife Conservation
Tiquer and its mission are essentially influenced by elephants. A portion of all payments for Tiq go to elephant and wildlife conservation. So while helping yourself achieve your goals, you are also helping save elephants and their environment!
Elephants are the largest land animals possessing the biggest brains of land animals with as many neurons as human brains. Elephants are known for their self-awareness, social connections, and empathy. They recognize themselves in mirrors. African elephants have anywhere from 10-50 friends with whom they communicate chemically and acoustically when they are apart. African elephants grieve and mourn their dead. Asian elephants use their trunks to caress a suffering elephant and emit sweet-sounding chirps.
But elephant and their habitats are in danger. African elephant habitat has declined by over 50% since 1979, while Asian elephants are now restricted to just 15% of their original range as a result of human-wildlife conflict and an upsurge in ivory poaching in recent years. With an estimated 415,000 elephants left in Africa, the species is regarded as vulnerable, although certain populations are being poached towards extinction. With only 40,000-50,000 Asian elephants left in the wild, the species is classified as endangered.
Both African and Asian elephants play a vital role in their ecosystems as well as contributing towards tourism and community incomes in many areas, making their survival important to them and their surrounding communities. By helping protect elephants, we’re helping conserve their habitat, supporting local communities, and making sure natural resources are available for generations to come.
And Because We Can’t Stop Nerding Out About This . . .
Our Tiquer family, symbolized by Ti or π, is like the number pi, which is the ratio of the circumference of any circle to its diameter. Regardless of the circle’s size, this ratio always equals pi, the infinite number 3.141592653… Similarly, Tiquer’s mission in giving you affordable and expert tiq is to grow all of us, elephants, and the world in an infinite and mutually beneficial circle.
